Mark Aaron Brown Executed

Ohio executes the "Menace II Society killer". It seems Mark Brown wanted to emulate a scene from the movie Menace II Society by gunning down two Asian convenience store employees. The thug got what he was due, executed.

Convicted killer Mark Brown was pronounced dead at 10:49 a.m. after spending 14 years on Death Row.

Brown, 37, was sentenced to death for the aggravated murder of Youngstown Midway Market owner Isam Salman in 1994. He was executed Thursday morning at the Southern Ohio Correctional Facility in Lucasville.

Media witnesses were escorted into the death chamber at 10:21 a.m., followed by the victim's witnesses at 10:22 and Brown's witnesses at 10:24. Salman's sister, Terri Rascul, was clutching her brother's photograph as she entered the chamber.

At 10:27 a.m. executioners turned the monitors on and prepared Brown's arms until 10:35, at which time they brought out the death bed. Brown stared straight ahead the entire time. He did not look at witnesses and appeared to have tears in his eyes.

Officials were finished hooking up the tubes at 10:39 a.m. and asked if Brown had any final words. His response was "no."  WKBN
