Ohio executes the thrill killer.

LUCASVILLE, Ohio -- A Dayton man who took part in a 1992 Christmas holiday killing spree that left six people dead and two wounded, was xecuted this morning at 10 a.m.

Marvallous Keene has opted not to challenge the death sentence, public defender Rachel Troutman said.

Keene, who was convicted in five of the murders, was transferred Monday from a state prison in Youngstown to the Southern Ohio Correctional Facility in Lucasville, where the state has its death chamber.

He is scheduled to die by lethal injection this morning in what will be the state's second execution in two weeks.

It is troubling it took them almost 17 years to put this murderer away.

Keene and three accomplices went on a three-day murder and robbery rampage in Dayton that began on Christmas Eve 1992.

Other victims included a convenience store clerk shot in the head after handing over $30 from a cash register and two teenage acquaintances who Keene feared would tell police about his crimes.

His accomplices were convicted and are serving life sentences.

Keene, 36, spent part of Monday being examined by the prison's medical staff.

He also ordered a special meal for dinner that included a Porterhouse steak, jumbo deep-fried shrimp and German chocolate cake, prisons spokeswoman Julie Walburn said.   SOURCE

Good riddance.
