I wonder if Peggy Joseph is still having to worry about putting gas in her car and paying her own mortgage payment. If not it is my guess she is a true Hope and Change acolyte.
It brings me to this story:
WASHINGTON -- Employers cut a larger-than-expected 467,000 jobs in June, driving the unemployment rate up to a 26-year high of 9.5 percent, suggesting that the economy's road to recovery will be bumpy.
The Labor Department report, released Thursday, showed that even as the recession flashes signs of easing, companies likely will want to keep a lid on costs and be wary of hiring until they feel certain the economy is on a solid ground.
I remember 3 years ago the liberal media reported how bad it was under President Bush when the unemployment rate was about 5.5%. Now it is 9.5% and it shows signs of easing? Who needs the Government run media anyway. What ever happen to just reporting the story without any spin? Just the bare facts and let us draw the conclusion.
The White House last week said federal money is being shoveled out of Washington quickly, but states aren't steering the cash to counties that need jobs the most.
Large job cuts have continued this week. Newspaper publisher Gannett Co. said it plans to cut 1,400 jobs in the next few weeks, about 3 percent of the work force, as it faces a prolonged slump in advertising revenue. Farm machinery company Deere & Co. said 800 salaried employees, or 3 percent of its salaried work force, took a voluntary buyout offer. SOURCE
There is six months left in the year. You can do the math and figure out if we keep losing jobs at this rate where we will be in December. This is a Change no one in their right minds would want.
