Way too small to be left alone.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The mother of the four young children police said were left alone in a Westside apartment for at least three hours last month pleaded guilty to child neglect charges on Thursday. Wynette Smith, 28, was sentenced to the 22 days she served in jail since her arrest. She was also ordered to serve two years of probation. Police responded to the Collins Road apartment June 21 after getting a tip from management at the complex.

The children, ages 3 and 5 and twin 8-month-olds, remain in foster care and Smith will have to go through custody proceedings with the Department of Children and Families before getting her children back. Smith's boyfriend, Shakir Muhammad, 33, remained in jail on $100,000 bond awaiting arraignment on the same charges. (Source.)
